Pace of Game

So, I have watched a bunch of spring training games and seen these stupid pace of game changes. I'd really like to know who the dopes are that think the games need to be sped up. When I go to a game (and I go to plenty each year) I don't go to get in and get out in a hurry. I go to spend 3 or so hours at each game. Sometimes a game goes faster sometimes longer but I don't watch the clock. Why don't the MLB powers focus on the games that start at 8PM Sunday night just so ESPN can broadcast the game. What is dummer than that? Do they think about the fans who have to get up and go to work Monday morning? No, of course not. Or how about the crazy playoff schedule, days and start times...what about that? I understand that the game is a business and that a business needs to make money but come on....give me a break.

Hitting Coach

So Kevin Long goes over to the Mets and the Mets batters seem to be having quite a spring. Now I have always been the first to say that anything that happens during spring training means nothing so who cares how well the Mets are doing.   BUT   what if the hitting coach wasn't really a problem. Sometimes a team needs to make a change just to make a change and get a different perspective. Time will tell but there is less than two weeks left to spring training and as a famous American once said .... "it's getting late early". To quote another famous American "the Yanks need to put their hitting shoes on".

A-Dud

So, if A-Rod makes it past spring training I will follow my rule of NOT rooting against any current Yankee....but.....don't be surprised if the Yankees designate A-Rod for assignment at the end of spring training. Look at the facts 1) A-Rod tires to meet with Yankee brass and they tell him to get lost until spring training 2) somehow it gets leaked that the Yankees are looking to void the bonuses for the next home run milestones 3) A-Rod looks like a shell of his former self...he will be lucky to have anything more than warning track power.
